NEWARTIST : Hocus Pocus

Hocus Pocus is a unique combo in the French rap landscape reminding us of American groups such as "The Roots" or "A Tribe Called Quest". However, its musical craving is not limited to rap music. Serge Gainsbourg, Donny Hathaway or Miles Davis enrich their record collection and inspire 20syl's composition and writing. On stage 20syl, rapper, conductor and head beatmaker of the band is surrounded by Hervé (bass), David (guitar and vocals), Antoine (drums), Matthieu (piano) and DJ Greem on the turntables. iSWHAT?! live auf den 7. Hamburger Jazztagen

Jazz is dead - long live the Jazz (but different): The new edition of the Hamburger Jazztage auf Kampnagel is titled ÜBERJAZZ and presents artists that have their roots in Jazz but  provide a far bigger spectrum: Bands from Death Metal to Afrojazz who set standards with their live-performances. The lineup includes Mulatu Astatke, Matthew Herbert Big Band and many more. Following to their first UK-tour iSWHAT?! will play at Kampnagel on 29th of october. On Halloween iSWHAT?! will continue theri trip to Switzerland to rock Halloween at the beeflat, Bern.

NEWARTIST : Psalm One

Psalm One was raised in Chicago among church choir and freestylebattles, played piano, guitar, organ and drums and after all decided to study chemistry at the University of Illinois. In 2006 Psalm One became the first Lady to release on Rhymesayers Entertainment - home of the likes of Brother Ali, MF Doom, Atmosphere et cetera. The lyrically focused chemist's work is inspired by Stevie Wonder, Fiona Apple, Prince and MC Lyte. NEWARTIST : The Duke Ellington Orchestra

Barnie Lee Hall was introduced to the Duke by jazz legend Arnett Cobb as "This is Barmie Lee Hall a trumpeter in the Texas Southern University Jazz Ensemble ".  And Duke's reply was,   "Ah, how come you're not playing in my band?"  He joined the Duke Ellington Orchestra in 1973 and at the present still is a member of that organization.

We are now exclusively booking The Duke Ellington Orchestra for the German-speaking territory and look forward to the tour in march/april 2011!
